Artist Statement: "I have always been fascinated with Siapo and Tapa, as my family still has a few cherished pieces that have been passed down from generation to generation. I wanted to create my own design that reflected my life in the past couple of years. I have been blessed to be surrounded with supportive and insightful family, mentors, and peers who helped me grow and push through challenges. The vibrations of the lines represent the prayers that have been protecting me from dangers I'll never know. This design represents a flower seed that blooms over time into a beautiful Lotus flower. Representing the everlasting cycle of life."
